COVID-19 Company Update

Sea-Land Chemical Company continues to closely monitor developments surrounding the COVID-19 situation around the globe and the potential implications this could have on our employees, customers, supply chain partners and community.

Our health and safety of our employees and our community remain our top priority during this rapidly changing situation.  As of today, Sea-Land Chemical remains open for business in the US, Canada and Europe. We are in routine contact with our suppliers and our warehouse partners to ensure we are doing everything we can to keep raw materials stocked and ready for shipment to our customers. We have not received any reports of major disruptions in our supply chain but are experiencing some longer lead times on certain materials.

Additional safety measures and changes to operation schedules have been put into place at some warehouse locations. These changes may affect the ability to meet all customer specific packaging requirements such as placing customer item codes on packaged goods. These temporary measures are being exercised to reduce complexity in supply chain processes and meet volume demands as quickly and safely as possible.

On March 19, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), a part of the US Department of Homeland Security, released a memorandum to assist state and local jurisdictions and the private sector to identify and manage their essential workforce while responding to COVID-19. The list of Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers was developed in coordination with Federal agencies. The Chemical Sector has been identified as an integral part of the plan to combat this disease. With this guidance and our involvement in the chemical industry, we expect to continue operations throughout this ordeal until otherwise notified. On Monday, March 16, we implemented our emergency response plan. This plan includes actions to minimize disruptions to business operations, telework implementation and communication plans. Over 90% of our operations and sales staff are successfully assisting customer and business partners from their remote office location.  We have invested in the training and resources to operate remotely at full capacity in the event local, state or government officials mandate a closure of our corporate office location.

Utilizing recommendations and guidelines provided by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Center for Disease Control (CDC), Sea-Land has taken the following steps to minimize exposure of our office staff, their families and our communities.

  • Initiated telework arrangements for over 90% of employees
  • Limit number of employees in the office to <10
  • Restrict all business travel, domestic and abroad for all employees
  • Restrict all outside visitors at our corporate office
  • Daily office cleaning practices to reduce risk of spread of disease
